“Owning animals isn’t Vegan”
Oh, because the worst thing that humans could do to animals is take care of them, walk them, love them, give them toys, a home (shield from weather), plenty of food and water, and let them lay on the most comfy of couches, and sometimes even your own bed. And it’s the most terrible thing is to take care of animals with diseases, blindness, or amputations that would not last one minute in the wild, yeah that doesn’t sound vegan at all to do.
But that’s not owning animals. That’s like saying I own my little sister, because I feed her and take care of her. The non human animals that live with me are companions, but not my propriety, and I would never say I own them.
That’s right, owning animals is NOT vegan. Living with animals that rely on you, and taking care of them, on the other hand, does.
